Bagpipes For Beginners Class
A Bagpiper is a person who:
- Can play a list of tunes by memory on the bagpipe.
- Can learn and develop their own music.
- Can set up and maintain a set of bagpipes.
If you are brand new, buy our “Getting Started Package” for only $299!
This package includes:
- A Practice Chanter
- A Book with Audio
- 3 Months of Group Instruction
If you already have some experience, the program is $75 per month. You may only need our book and audio for only $35.00
The program will be held at the Yardley Methodist Church which is located at the intersection of Newtown-Yardley and Langhorne-Yardley Roads in Yardley, PA. We will be meeting on Tuesdays starting September 10th, at 7pm. This is a task oriented program, so you won’t necessarily be there all night. Every week, we’ll assess where you are and give what you need to practice for the current week. You can grow and develop at your own pace. Our goal is to get your bagpipe hobby off the ground and to cruising altitude as quickly as possible.

The Bagpipe Ensemble
This program is for people with bagpipe experience. You may be someone that:
- Plays all of the time.
- Hasn’t played for a while, but would like to.
- Wants to improve their bagpipe playing skills.
- Is not a beginner
If you’re one of these people than this program is for you.
I teach people all over the world on Skype. The biggest problem that they have playing in existing pipe bands is that those pipe bands are looking for people “ready to go right now”. They want people that can play, read their music and jump right in. The other problem is that a lot of those students don’t see a pathway to membership until they get to a certain level or proficiency.
What if you aren’t ready yet.
This group is for you!
Here’s how the program works:
I have a set tune list. We will play that tune list every week. You need to be on time every week so that you can start at the top. The only rule that I have is “no faking”. You can sit at the table with your practice chanter and play down the list with us until you run out of tunes. Your goal is always to stay longer. To do that you need to learn the next tune.
When we play the bagpipe, we will play everything by memory. You can stand in my circle and play down the list until you run out of tunes. When you do, you excuse yourself and go work on the next tune or go home and work on it.
This maintains a certain quality control. You can grow at your own pace!
The tune list are the tunes in my book “Bagpipes For Beginners”. We will follow the order as they are list in the book. At the end of the night we will have our best players. This gives everyone an entry point into the group with a set destination.
